Slow to Anger

Philomena has been having a very hard time listening to me lately. I try not to get angry, but these times have been getting more and more frequent. I realize she is just a toddler and this is totally normal, but it doesn't make it any more desirable! Last night I asked her to pick up a piece of paper that she throw on the floor and was stepping on. She wouldn't listen at all, and even started back talking to me. Daddy came in and made her do it before I had a chance to get up off the couch. After doing what I asked she looks at me and says "don't be angry, don't be angry, Mommy." At that moment i melted. I want to be patient but it can be so hard. Lets pray for more patience today. Amen.

Lovin my new do!!!!!!

What do you think? I LOVE it! So does my hubby!!!!

MY MAD SCIENTIST!

Friends

We got together with some out of town friends on Memorial Day. It was such a nice visit. Mena had two wonderful playmates and the adult company was wonderful. We only get to see these friends once or twice a year and the kids have grown so much! Here are a few pictures from the visit. I wish I had more.

Potty Training

Well, Here we go! I am starting to potty train my little girl today. She has shown me many signs of being ready but still HATES the idea of actually sitting on the potty. I am trying to take her every 20 minutes but she doesn't always want to sit. I was able to get her to sit this morning when she woke up for about 5 minutes. No luck. Literally one minute after she got up she pee'd on my couch! Oh well. I put her in undies and that is that! I think after I get the hang of when she is going I can then plan more accurately when to take her potty. She seems to go every hour, at least so far. Not once in the potty yet but hopefully before the day is done. I am giving her a fruit snack each time she tries because at this point, it's not about going, just TRYING! Any good suggestions? I have potty trained a ton of toddlers when I was a daycare teacher but Mena is a different story for some reason. I am remembering how important the positive peer pressure is of watching other kiddos going potty for the one learning! I wish she had someone to watch. Anyone want to come and play?

Movies

I have been watching a lot of movies via Netflix lately and have loved the selection they carry. I mean I just got in the mail the Spring 09 Film Catalog from Ignatius Press ( Catholic Company) and Netflix really surprised me carrying most of the movies that I looked up from the catalog. Dom and I are in for some great Catholic and inspiring movies coming up this summer. We just watched the Boy in the Striped Pajamas and we highly recommend this movie. It was very well done and we were both very moved by it. A movie I want to see is The Ninth Day. My husband and I are reading the book that this movie is based off of and hope the movie will be just as good. The book is a tearjerker about the Priestblock in the concentration camps. Have any of you seen it yet?

Fever

My poor baby had a high fever all day yesterday. She handled it so well, no crying, just some extra cuddling. She didn't have any other symptoms at all. I guess her body was fighting something with all it's might. Her fever broke during the night and she is back to her old self again. Thank you Jesus! I hate seeing my sweetie sick.

UPDATE: I think she is cutting a back molar. She has definitely been crabby lately and chewing on her entire fist at times. I guess I didn't realize she could get such a high fever just from teething.

Haircut...

Family friends from out of state are coming to visit. Every time they come I get my haircut because, well, this friend cuts my hair. I seem to wait forever just so she can cut it! I am so excited and can't wait for a change in style. I am thinking about getting Mena's hair cut too. It would be awesome if that actually helped her hair to grow a little faster. She is such a cutie, whatever her hairstyle is!

Facelift

What do you think of the new look???? I love it!

I am loosing my mind!

Wow! All the sudden this hormone (Clomid) is really affecting my mood. I am up, down, up, and right back down again! All these little things that wouldn't normally bother me are having a huge effect on me. Ahhh! One of these things is that I don't know the password to my gmail account and I never did. Hubby set it up for me and doesn't know the password or the security ?'s answer. I can log in all the time though because my computer remembers the password for me. It really becomes a problem when I am away from my computer and can't check my mail. Also, today when I tried to change to Firefox to resolve some weird problem my computer is having in regards to the Blogosphere, I could no longer log in to my email or my blog. SCARY! I fixed that problem by removing Firefox but now can't read other blogs because of this weird issue! I decided to make a new gmail account just in case I can no longer log into mine for some strange reason. Why am I making this so difficult? Anyway, on a good note, Dom and I have another date night tonight, second one in a row! Fun stuff! Also, we signed up for Netflix and so far think it's pretty cool. We don't have cable so this is a good way to watch movies and tv series for cheap! Pray that I make it through this day without hurting anyone!!! God bless,

Wedding

Here are some pictures from my cousins wedding. It was a beautiful place to hold a reception. Mena loved it outside and she really enjoyed running around the place with her cousins!

I'm back!

We just got back from our trip to Iowa. We had a ball! Mena loved seeing her grandparents and her cousins and they played so nicely together too! Their were five kids altogether all under three. Lots of craziness but we adults managed to still get a good visit in here and there. I have so many great pictures to post. We fit in a ton in the short amount of time we were gone, including my cousins wedding. The reception was at a beautiful place. The outdoors were breathtaking and Dominic got some great pictures of Philomena out there. Enough typing, here are some pictures...

Just touching base

I wonder if it's to early to be feeling some side effects of the clomid but I have a huge headache right now! I can't seem to get rid of it even with a nap. Hopefully dinner will help it. That's all for now. Gotta get to packing.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I KNOW I'M A DAY LATE BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT ANY LESS SINCERE.
I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED YOUR SPECIAL DAY.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started clomid today! All I can say is finally! I now feel like I am being proactive. We have been trying for so long to no avail and now I get to take this hormone that will help stimulate my follicles so that I can get pregnant easier. I know I said before, but I went on hormones to help me conceive baby Mena and it only took ONE month. Hopefully this will be the same way! Lets see what God has in store...I am ready!

P.S. I hope my hormones don't go to crazy. I am leaving to visit my family this week and I actually want to enjoy myself. If not, It's still worth it!

Iowa Vacation

I am so excited to go see my parents and sister and her family (new nephew Egan) on Wednesday. I have to clean the house before I pack because I love having all the laundry done and a clean house to begin with. It's also so nice to return to a straightened and clean house after our vacation. We are going to drive straight through to Iowa. It is about a nine hour trip so I hope little Mena can hang in there! We are so excited that the car we have has cruise control this time. It makes it so much nicer of a drive! We will be driving home on Sunday so this will be a shorter visit. Lets hope I can pack accordingly!!!!!

Home Studio Scrabble Tile Pendant

Here is a picture from the website of the tile I choose. It's beautiful!
I just received my Scrabble Tile Pendant handmade by Home Studio. It is absolutely beautiful. There is no excess glue around the edges and it has been sanded to perfection. I also LOVE the design I picked! They have so many beautiful choices to pick from which made it fun to choose one that would go with that perfect outfit! They shipped my tile pendant very quickly and also included a chain to put the pendant on. It is beautiful as well. Thank you so much Home Studio! If you are interested in the beautiful products from Home Studio you can check out their website at http://www.homestudio.etsy.com/. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I love mine!
I would include a picture but my camera broke a couple of weeks ago and I am waiting for my new one.
BTW: The prices are great too!!!

Not yet...

Well, I am pretty down right now. I was really hoping to be pregnant this month. I know I say that a lot but we have been trying for 22 months and it is really getting hard for me. I have a big dr. appointment on Monday morning where we are going to discuss and get started on some hormones, probably Chlomid. I am really hoping that it works for us. I know God has a plan but I am so tired of waiting. Hopefully I get pregnant with twins on Chlomid. I would love that! Anyway, I think I need to go cry a little and then I will be back to my good ol self again. Thanks for listening!

Happy Birthday to Sharon!

Today is my dear friend Sharon's birthday! She means a lot to me and I don't know if she know this but I am truly blessed to have her as a friend. I would consider Sharon to be one of my best friends in the area and I miss her dearly now that she is an hour away. I know it's silly and I shouldn't let that measly hour come between us. That's why I am going to make a point of visiting her more often. Sharon, you are such an awesome women of God and I really enjoy your company. Thanks for being such a good friend and always being there when I need you. I hope you have a wonderful birthday and we will have to celebrate it with a girls night out sometime this summer. God bless you today and always. I treasure your friendship! Check out her blog at http://www.nesthome.blogspot.com/

Arch Nemisis...laundry!

Laundry is my arch-nemisis! I hate doing laundry. Every part of it...especially the folding. It seems that when I get around to folding everything is wrinkled and it never fails that I find a stain on my favorite shirt that has been DRIED! Ahh. I wish I could stay on top of the laundry. I mean, there's only three of us in the house and sometimes I wear the same clothes for two days. Shhhhh! Don't tell! That only happens on days when I don't go out.
Anyway, I have to get all the laundry done this week so that I can start packing for our trip to Iowa. I am so excited! My family and friends are in Iowa, not to mention all my memories. I can't wait to go home. My husband always says it helps him love me even more when he spends time with my family. Lets hope he still loves me after he realizes all his clothes are wrinkled and our iron BROKE!

Wordless Wednesday!

This is a picture taken at our house in November, 2008. My parents were in town for Dominic's birthday among other things. Mena is wearing Grandma's (Bugga's) glasses and looked darn cute if I do say so myself!
