Quick trip!

Well we just got back from a super quick trip to Iowa.  I am telling you it was quick because we arrived at 9pm on Friday night and left at noon on Sunday.  Over 16 hours in the car for that little visit!  It was so good to see everyone though.  Dom and I worked a Catholic Men's conference all day on Saturday as venders with our Lighthouse Catholic Media table.  We really enjoyed being there.  Dominic really liked the keynote speaker and so did my dad.  It was wonderful having my dad there at the conference so he could see us in action at our table.  Some of my friends from years ago were there so I was able to catch up with them too!  Then on Saturday night, we spent some time with my sister Ann and her family.  Everyone looked great!  The kids had so much fun together.  Mena can't stop talking about her cousins and has been making them pictures for the last hour!  Anyway, I got to see my little Godchild Egan.  He is such a smilely little fellow.  Oren, Alice, and Mena had a ball downstairs with Grandma and Grandpa while Ann and I caught up on chit chat.  Dom and Aaron were in the other room chatting away too!  Ann and I are both pregnant now so we got a little pic together withour bellies.  She is around 10 weeks and I am 27 weeks.  Fun times!  Then we left for home in the morning.  and got back to our humble abode around 10pm.  That made for one LONG weekend!

Lighthouse Catholic Media

Our business is going really well.  We went to our work conferance two weekends ago and got rejuvenated and excited again about our mission of evangelization in the Catholic church.  This past weekend we had our first parish kick off and it was very successful.  We were at the parish for four masses and a pancake breakfast promoting the cd's and the CD of the Month Club.  Then on Monday night, Steve Ray came to speak at that same parish.  We were there again to promote Lighthouse.  He promoted the program during his talk which helped too.

WOW! What A Weekend!

Friday morning we left for Lansing, Mi (an hour and a half away) for a Catholic homeschooling conference that we were vendors for. It was such a wonderful weekend trip. We dropped off Philomena at my husbands parents house and they watched her overnight. It was great! This was our first night alone since she was born. So needed! She did great, and went to bed wonderfully for naps and night. I wonder what their trick was! She got to go with her Cia Cia (aunt in polish) to pick out two bunnies from the pet store for Dzia Dzia (Grandpa in polish) as a Fathers Day present. She thought that was great and she tells me stories about the bunnies all the time now. Anyway, the conference was wonderful. It was awesome seeing all these amazing parents raising 3, 5,7,10 kids and homeschooling! They were all so well behaved and loved the faith. Before going, I had been nervous about starting to home school Mena because I don't feel quite smart enough. This conference really helped me remember that you learn as you go and how many resources there really are. I am really looking forward to homeschooling and can't wait to start with Mena. I found the most fantastic Catholic Montessori method curriculum that I am going to use for Mena. I bought an awesome book from this table about how to make Montessori materials out of household items. I can't wait to start! I was thinking about forming a group of moms in the area who would like to get together and make Montessori materials with me. I think that would be so fun and very productive!!! Very cool stuff and I can't speak highly enough about the creator, mother of ten, Franciscan University of Steubenville grad!!! That was just Friday and Saturday. Fantastic Catholic CD's

Dominic and I went to a Catholic Family conference in Chicago area last summer. We were inspired to join as representatives for a ministry called Lighthouse Catholic Media. It is an affiliate of St. Joseph Communications. This ministry produces and distributes inspiring talks by Catholic speakers on a variety of topics such as marriage and family, the sacraments, and other Church teachings.
